Mythology
Orion was a giant huntsman in Greek mythology, son of Poseidon. Slain by a scorpion sent by Gaia or Artemis, he was placed in the sky — eternally fleeing Scorpius across the celestial sphere. His belt of three bright stars is one of the sky's most recognizable patterns.
